Calculate your due date!
Though there's no sure way to predict your exact delivery date, you can get a close estimate. Knowing your due date can help you schedule prenatal visits and plan for your baby's arrival by getting his or her room ready, buying clothes and other supplies, and making arrangements at your job. But remember, only 5 percent of babies are born on their estimated due date, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Get an estimate of your delivery date here.
How your baby develops in the womb
Every month, your unborn baby reaches another milestone. Get an idea of what's happening during each month of pregnancy here.
Breastfeeding Support
After you leave the hospital, you can receive answers to breastfeeding questions by calling our Breastfeeding Warmline at 409.899.8595, or toll free 800.810.2829.
CHRISTUS Hospital offers breastfeeding guidance and support to all new mothers, both employees and patients alike. As a leader in promoting healthy infants through breastfeeding, CHRISTUS Hospital was awarded the Mother Friendly Worksite designation by the Texas Department of State Health Services as we provide a secure environment for new mothers who are returning to work and want to continue breastfeeding. CHRISTUS has also received the prestigious Texas Top Ten designation from the Department of State Health Services and the Texas Hospital Association for encouraging breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding newborns and infants.
Neonatal ICU (NICU)
State-of-the-art neonatal intensive care units in Beaumont and Port Arthur provide excellent care for the tiniest patients. Top-notch specialists who are board certified in neonatology and pediatrics, as well as NICU-trained registered nurses and respiratory therapists, are available 24 hours a day.
Infants from surrounding communities who are born too early and those with serious health problems are just minutes from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at St. Mary. The NICU transport team consists of neonatologist Nikhil Raval, MD, highly skilled NICU nurses and specially trained respiratory therapists. The team stabilizes and transports babies who are born too early and those with serious health problems to St. Mary from surrounding area hospitals that don’t offer the specialized care the babies need.
That means that babies requiring special care in communities such as Orange are just minutes from help and that a team of medical professionals is ready to get it to them. Once the babies arrive at St. Mary’s NICU, they receive advanced, compassionate care – the same care that little ones receive at the NICU at St. Elizabeth – that allows them to get the best possible start in life.
Prenatal Classes
We also provide expectant families with important resources before, during, and after their blessed event. Tours of our birthing centers are also included.
